Vehicle Control System

The Viritech Vehicle Control System provides a complete vehicle control solution for fuel cell vehicles. It is available as a software or hardware product for prototype and development vehicles and provides support for Tri-Volt energy management, cooling control, fuel cell control, HVIL, torque control, BMS integration and many other critical vehicle functions. The Vehicle Control System is available as a hardware/software solution, or as a Simulink package for integration into a suitable controller.

Software Only Or Ready To Integrate Hardware Options

Complete Vehicle Control Solution For Single Fuel Cell Vehicles

Includes Tri-Volt Energy Management

A flexible and full function vehicle control software system which is available in software only form or on hardware ready to integrate and includes Tri-Volt energy management. The solution allows for rapid build and deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles by providing a complete set of software blocks for the management and control of the vehicle and its sub systems.

Software blocks include:

-        Tri-Volt™ Energy Management: A dedicated energy management component providing analysis, status and performance calculations to optimise energy deployment on vehicle.

-        Torque Control: Optimised for the human machine interface and specifically the nature, feel and feedback of power when requested by the vehicle operator.

-        Fuel Cell Control: Allowing for the interface and integration of many on fuel cell controllers to the larger vehicle system. Supports control of the running mode, output/set point and general control strategy.

-        Cooling Control: Discrete control and calibration of pump, fan, DC motors etc. for the purposes of fuel cell cooling, battery cooling, general heat exchanger integration etc. with specific PID controls for FC Coolant system.

The vehicle control solution is designed to allow OEMs, Tier-1s and research bodies to signfiicantly reduce build complexity when constructing fuel cell vehicles and significantly reduces development time when integrating the three key components of fuel cell, battery and e-machine/inverter into a vehicle. Whilst this variant is designed for prototype and development vehicle use integration support and custom strategy development can be provided by Viritech engineering services allowing the controller to be optimised for specific applications including volume production applications required to meet ISO 26262 standards.
