Viritech details HGV development at CENEX LCV

Viritech was invited to speak at this year’s CENEX LCV event (6-7 September) about our exciting hydrogen fuel cell HGV project, ICEBreaker.

ICEBreaker will develop a 40-tonne fuel cell HGV which will be exhibited at next year’s CENEX LCV in September 2024. The announcement generated huge interest in the show amongst both vehicle manufacturers and major suppliers.

The mood at the event was very much that hydrogen is the long-term solution for heavy trucks, and the Viritech approach is seen as an excellent way of maximising efficiency, and therefore minimising Total Cost of Ownership.

Meanwhile, the Ford stand at CENEX LCV featured a hydrogen fuel cell Transit van prototype that is being developed by Ford-led consortium including Viritech. Thus Viritech is developing fuel cell powertrains for the full spectrum of commercial vehicles.
